I am a qualified healer and reiki master, having trained for two years with The Healing Trust and then later in the Usui system of reiki. Formerly a magazine journalist and Shiatsu practitioner I moved from London to Kent ten years ago to concentrate on my healing work.
In addition to my private clients, I worked as a volunteer reiki therapist for several years at both Pilgrim's Hospice in Ashford and at Rye & Winchelsea Memorial Hospital, the latter with the Sara Lee Trust. I've seen many patients benefit from healing, experiencing less pain, better sleep, a deep sense of relaxation and wellbeing as well as more confidence to cope with life's challenges.
The Healing Process
Energy healing works on a physical, mental and emotional level to restore health and wellbeing.
In addition to the outward symptoms, it seeks out the underlying cause, so you may feel an improvement immediately, after a few days or, especially with chronic conditions, a gradual improvement over time.
Healing can help with stress, illness or injury, working alongside conventional treatments with no harmful side effects
Who can Benefit?
I work with a light gentle touch or with my hands a short distance away from the body. There is no manipulation involved, making it relaxing, safe and therapeutic. Healing can be helpful for emotional issues such as stress and anxiety as well as physical complaints such as illness or injury, and many people find relief from symptoms, including pain. Healing is about restoring balance to mind and body so even if you simply feel tired or overwhelmed a treatment can be both calming and relaxing.
Animal Healing
Energy healing works just as well with animals as it does with people, with similar benefits. Having originally trained with The Healing Trust I then completed a 1 year Diploma in Animal Healing and Communication with the wonderful Healing Animals Organisation, working with dogs, cats and other small animals as well as their human guardians.
i currently offer animal healing sessions from my home in East Sussex as well as giving weekly healing sessions to the cats at Celia Hammond Animal Trust. I usually work with the harder to re-home cats where it's so important (and rewarding) to reduce any stress they're feeling and to build up their trust and confidence so that they can find a new home.

The Healing Session
What happens during a treatment?
Each session lasts approximately an hour, although the first session will be slightly longer to allow for questions about your health and general wellbeing.
You’ll be invited to lie on a treatment couch, fully clothed, or to sit in a chair if this is easier for you, then to close your eyes and relax while I work with my hands either on, or near to your body. Touch is light, gentle and non-intrusive inducing a feeling of deep relaxation and wellbeing.
There is no massage or manipulation.
What might I feel during and after treatment?
Most people feel very relaxed with a sense of well-being. You may also feel sensations such as heat, coolness or tingling as I work around the body. Sometimes aches and pains come to the surface, then fade away, or you might feel a bit emotional as feelings reach your awareness and are released.
This is a normal part of the healing process, common to many complementary therapies and shouldn't last.
I'm not spiritual, does that matter?
Energy healing is not based on religious beliefs and is widely used in hospitals and hospices. It has no harmful side effects and can be used alongside medical treatments you may be receiving. However, it's always best to tell your doctor that you are receiving Energy Healing, as you would with any complimentary therapy.
How many sessions will I need?
Everyone is different, one session may be enough, sometimes several will be needed. Acute problems generally respond faster than chronic ones and long standing conditions can take time.
